In a healthy person, Chi, also known as the life force, flows smoothly through the body’s energy channels in a state of dynamic equilibrium. Acupuncture achieves its curative effect by clearing obstructions and balancing the energy flow. Once the smooth flow of Chi is restored, an individual becomes healthy.
This Eastern Philosophy is second nature to Dr. Kara MoraMarco and intrinsic to her perspective on health and healing. Kara is a Doctor of Acupuncture (DAOM), and a board-certified California Licensed Acupuncturist whose passion for healthful living began at an early age. Dr. Kara’s mother and father, both Doctors of Acupuncture were and are her shining examples of commitment to helping others restore and maintain health.
At the age of six, her father, Dr. Jacques MoraMarco (Academic Dean of Emperor's College) began training Kara in Chinese Martial Arts, including Tai Chi and Qi Gong. At an early age, Kara developed a passion for figure skating. She ultimately completed the Gold Medal Senior Level test of the USFSA. In addition, Kara cross-trained in ballet, yoga, and Pilates. Following the completion of Kara’s Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) magna cum laude at California State University Northridge, she then earned her Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Traditional East Asian Medicine summa cum laude at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Kara’s clinical internships included rotations at UCLA’s Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center as well as the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank as well as the Being Alive Community Clinic in West Hollywood.
